Catch the Buzz and Celebrate Bee Day!

Did you know that the UN approved the very first World Bee Day in 2017?   On May 20th,  we celebrate the role that bees and other pollinators play in our ecosystem.  Thanks to the Slovenian Beekeepers’ Association, we honor the life and hard work of these busy buggers on the birthday of pioneer beekeeper,  Anton Jansa, born May 20, 1734.  The theme for this year’s Bee Day is   “Bee Engaged.”  There are over 20,000 different species of tiny busy bees working hard for mankind and yet they never complain!  Sadly, their populations are declining which is scary because 75% of our food crops producing fruits and seeds depend on their pollination to provide nutritious foods that keep us healthy.  Intensive...
